This week: Scottish hotels and accommodation I can't stop thinking about
In this week’s instalment of the-newsletter-that-is-an-insight-into-Pippa’s-mental-rolodex (working title), I can’t stop thinking about booking a weekend away!! Possibly inspired by my Paris trip last week (which’ll feature in next week’s proper newsletter), but also maybe that January felt about 46 years long. Here’s my rundown of the hotels, self-catered properties, B&Bs and everything in between you need to get to know in Scotland:
Now, this place has been on my radar for years. It’s a restaurant with only a few rooms onsite (which book up very quickly) in their bothies and shepherd’s huts. Anyone can visit the restaurant on the weekends, but dinner is served for guests only between Monday–Wednesday. I’ve also lusted after the thoughtfully created breakfast baskets, stuffed full of homemade bread, preserves and lovely bits delivered to your room too.
The only place on this list I’ve been able to tick off staying at. I could go on about Glen Dye all day as it’s such a special place. On our first visit we were there for their Taigh Festival weekend which was brilliant — filled with cookery demos, communal table dinners, river wild sims and cosy drinks beside the log burner in their BYO pub. I’m desperately plotting which life event I could justify booking out their Coach House B&B for. Each accommodation comes equipped with record player, Gozney pizza oven and a little green egg too. I’ve also just spotted they’re running a competition at the moment where you can win a stay there or at their sister venue in Wales…what are you waiting for people?!!
